Funka Qualifies For State Meet

J.T. Funka qualified for the state meet in the pole vault after winning the Division 2 competition with a height of 12 feet, 6 inches at the Section 6 championships held at Strider Field in Jamestown.

Frewsburg defeated Westfield, 12-1, in the Class C playoffs.
Tim Orlando had two hits while Nick Quagliana and Nick Kimbel each had one hit for the Wolverines, which finished the season with only two losses.
Ripley Central School

Ripley defeated Panama, 5-2, in the Class D semifinals.
Sam Eimers had three hits and Kailyn Bailey had two hits and one RBI to lead the Eagles. Damaris Mason was the winning pitcher with seven strikeouts and two walks.
Lauren Larson was the losing pitcher for the Panthers.

The Thunderbirds boys’ team finished the season with a 10-0 record following victories over Allegany-Limestone, 96 1/2-44 1/2, and Cattaraugus-Little Valley, 114 1/2-22 1/2.

Pine Valley defeated Sherman, 13-3, in the Section VI tournament.
Danielle Crane had two hits including a triple for the Wildcats.
Clymer Central School

In the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association meet, Clymer’s Nick Lombardozzi won the 100 meters and was a member of the winning 1,600-meter relay team. The event was held at Randolph Central School.

Lauren Larson tossed a no-hitter as Panama defeated Cassadaga Valley, 9-0.
Larson struck out eight and walked four. Taylor Shreve had three singles, a double and two RBI and Jamie Budzinski had a triple for the Panthe
