Westfield Republican / Mayville Sentinel News

After graduating from Westfield Academy and Central School in 1992, Aaron Resnick attended Bentley University in Waltham, MA, where he studied accounting and finance, but ultimately focused his studies on computer and management information systems. As a sophomore Aaron received an undergraduate service-learning grant that afforded him the opportunity to work with non-profit organizations throughout the Boston, MA, area. This experience was followed by an undergraduate research position with the Bentley Academic Computing Services Department during his junior year. Aaron was then accepted into the Bentley Honors Internship Program, which led to his first position out of college as a Management Information Systems Specialist with Shiva Corporation, which pioneered the development of remote access networking technology.

While with Shiva, Aaron was also a Technical Marketing Manager and Systems Engineer for the Asia Pacific / Latin America division. Tasked to establish Shiva Japan's operations, Aaron relocated to Tokyo and traveled extensively throughout South and Central America and the Asia-Pacific region. Aaron also met his wife Maria while living in Tokyo. Upon returning to the States, Shiva was acquired by the Intel Corporation where Aaron transitioned into a Sr. Development Marketing Engineer role. Aaron's career in the technology sector also included two years as a Senior Business Line Manager for StorageNetworks.

Desiring a new experience in a new environment, Aaron and his wife Maria moved to Durango, CO, where their 9-year-old son, Ryan, and 7-year-old daughter, Mia were born. While living in Colorado, Aaron pursued a number of entrepreneurial endeavors and volunteered his time with the Adaptive Sports Association where he later served as the Program Director.

With their children approaching school age, Aaron and Maria decided to move to Aaron's hometown of Westfield where they knew their children would grow up close to family in a beautiful, supportive community with outstanding educational opportunities at WACS.

Since returning to Westfield, Aaron co-founded TimberFish Technologies, an environmental biotechnology company, and currently serves as Executive Director of the Westfield Development Corporation. Aaron is active in the community as a Voting Member of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, Executive Committee Member of the NCCF Local Economic Development Committee, Westfield/Barcelona Chamber of Commerce Board Member, Westfield Board of Assessment Review Member, WACS Strategic Planning Committee Member and is also a Westfield Little League baseball coach.

Aaron is proud to represent Westfield in his role with the Westfield Development Corporation and as a volunteer in the community.
