WACS upended in High School Bowl competition

Westfield Republican

Fillmore Central School defeated Fredonia Central School 105-49 in a recent Media One High School Bowl match at Jamestown Community College.

In another match, Ellicottville Central School defeated Westfield Academy & Central School, 72-38.

Player of the Match honors went to Mason Kelley of Fillmore and Victor Rieman of Ellicottville.

The Fillmore team also included Tim Jackson, Michael McDonald, and Tim Rohe. The team is coached by Deb Woltag.

The Fredonia team, coached by Kerry Sweatman, included Kale Mendez Demello, Sweta Rao, Chris Miller, and Jin Kim.

Westfield, coached by Jeffrey Payne, included Alexander Michels, Davis Bates, Chris Cockram, Peter Manzella, Joshua McCord, Jason Babcock, Kaitlyn Meegan, Jane Barney, Aliana Cockram, Allexandria Davidson, and Anna Wright.

High School Bowl, now in its 54th year, is produced by Media One Group in cooperation with JCC. Sponsors include the JCC Alumni Association, Honest John's Pizza and Wings, Jamestown Mattress, Lind Funeral Home, Pepsi, SKF Aeroengine North America, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, and Delta Kappa Gamma, the International Honor Society of Women Educators.

High School Bowl airs on Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on radio station WJTN and at 8 a.m. on Sundays on radio station WWSE.
