CLCS, Sherman compete in high school bowl

Chautauqua Lake Central School defeated Maple Grove High School 69-49 but lost to Fillmore Central School 90-52 in recent Media One High School Bowl matches at Jamestown Community College.

Eisenhower High School defeated Silver Creek Central School 57-44 in another match.

Player of the Match honors went to Max McKee of Chautauqua Lake, Mason Kelley of Fillmore, and Jason Morine of Eisenhower.

Other Chautauqua Lake team members included Chloe Kilmartin, Hannah DeFries, Josh Ivars, Kirsten Elliott, Michael Parker, and Andrew Laurita. The team is coached by Mary Jantzi and Kim Sweet.

The Maple Grove team, coached by Jason VandeVelde, included Andre DelCalzo, Haley Morgenstern, Zoanne Gebhard, Ben Richard, Jason Thompson, and Chase Boardman.

Josh Buck and Tim Jackson were the other Fillmore team members. The team is coached by Deb Woltag.

The Eisenhower team also included Jacob McCool, Eric Corse, Hosanna Senz, Sidney Wallin, Megan Wilson, and Neil Rossman. The team is coached by Stacey Ludwig.

Silver Creek, coached by Caitlin Kane and Kelli Gorman, included Brook Birner, Brandon Bardo, Elliot Martin, Carl Cotroneo, Jewel Heald, and Meghan Buchholz.

Ellicottville Central School defeated Sherman Central School 91-75 and Eisenhower High School 81-80 in recent Media One High School Bowl matches at Jamestown Community College.

In another match, Ellicottville lost to Fillmore Central School 89-57.

Victor Rieman of Ellicottville, Jason Morine of Eisenhower, and Mason Kelley and Tim Jackson of Fillmore earned Player of the Match honors.

The Ellicottville team, coached by Ann Chamberlain, also included Aidan Wilson, Finn Wilson, Kevin Bower, and Olivia Venezia.

Fillmore was also represented by Josh Buck. The team is coached by Deb Woltag.

The Eisenhower team also included Jacob McCool, Eric Corse, Hosanna Senz, Sidney Wallin, Megan Wilson, and Neil Rossman. The team is coached by Stacey Ludwig.

Sherman, coached by Erika Stormer, was represented by Nick Hlifka, Stephen Walczak, Brandon VanCuren, Sam Keith, and Cory Abata.

High School Bowl, now in its 54th year, is produced by Media One Group in cooperation with JCC. Sponsors include the JCC Alumni Association, Honest John's Pizza and Wings, Jamestown Mattress, Lind Funeral Home, Pepsi, SKF Aeroengine North America, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, and Delta Kappa Gamma, the International Honor Society of Women Educators.

High School Bowl airs on Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on radio station WJTN and at 8 a.m. on Sundays on radio station WWSE.
