Local students earn honors at respective universities

Lehigh University

BETHLEHEM, PA- Dean's List status, which is awarded to students who earned a scholastic average of 3.6 or better while carrying at least 12 hours of regularly graded courses, has been awarded to Elizabeth Krisanda of Dewittville, NY, in the Spring 2015 semester.

St. Lawrence University

CANTON, NY- George Roath of Mayville was one of nearly 600 students who received bachelor degrees from St. Lawrence University during Commencement ceremonies held on May 17 in Canton, New York.

Roath received the degree of bachelor of arts. Roath is a member of the Class of 2015 and majored in performance and communication arts. Roath graduated from The Putney School.

Four honorary degree recipients spoke during St. Lawrence University's Commencement, including award-winning songwriter Judy Hart Angelo, hedge fund pioneer John M. Angelo, chair of the Baseball Hall of Fame Jane Clark, and garden historian Peter Hatch.

Mount Union

ALLIANCE, OH- Jed Walsh of Sherman, New York, was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2015 semester at the University of Mount Union.

To be eligible for Dean's List, students must have completed at least 12 credit hours of traditionally graded coursework while achieving a grade point average of 3.550 or better with no grade below a B.
