“Our uniqueness unites us” is the message students in grades 6-12 are sending at Westfield School. Students were asked to write something unique about themselves on a long strip of orange paper. Completed papers were collected and assembled in to one long chain of links by members of the Middle and High School Student Government. The idea for the chain came from a meeting secondary Principal Ivana Hite had with students on ways to promote positive character in the school. Students also held a day in October where students and staff wore orange to demonstrate how they “stand united against bullying.” Students received orange silicone awareness bracelets that same day, courtesy of Pacer’s Diane Ringer. You can see the chain hanging in the main lobby of the school.
