Area schools compete in High School Bowl

Westfield Republican

Westfield Academy & Central School defeated Warren Area High School 48-38 in a recent Media One High School Bowl match at Jamestown Community College.

Player of the Match honors went to Jason Babcock of Westfield.

The Westfield team, coached by Jeffrey Payne, also included Anne-Catharine Schaaf, Bethany Schaaf, Jani Barney, Madison Gross, Claire Tilley, Allexandra Davidson, Luke Stephenson, Alaina Cockram, Anna Wright, Michael Clamp, and Joshua McCord.

Alex Dollinger, Taylor Knowlton, Stephen Ashbaugh, Jared California, Claudia Olson, Robin Thomas, Megan Moore, and Neal Parker represented Warren. The team is coached by Jewel Rozanski.

In another recent High School Bowl match, Southwestern Central School defeated Clymer Central School 68-38.

Player of the Match honors went to Conrad Meyer of Southwestern and Hannah McDonald of Clymer.

Southwestern team members also included Chris Butler, Abby Henry, Elisabeth Meyer, Alyssa Carlson, Megan Powers, Emma Sample, Nick Seitz, and Andrew Komula. The team is coached by Julia Casselman.

The Clymer team, coached by Carrie Shampoe, included Nicholas Bayer, Andrea Fredenburg, Dalton Holthouse, and Ashton Lucas.

In another match, Fillmore defeated Chautauqua Lake Central School 125-39.

Player of the Match honors went to Mason Kelley of Fillmore.

The Fillmore team also included Yan Liu, Josh Buck, Meredith Young, Carmen Mancuso, Amanda Burrichter, and Michael McDonald. The team is coached by William Kelley.

Chautauqua Lake was represented by Maximillian McKee, Andrew Laurita, Dax Spacht, Joe Keyser, and Brianna Dudley.

High School Bowl, now in its 55th year, is produced by Media One Group in cooperation with JCC. Sponsors include the JCC Alumni Association, Honest John's Pizza and Wings, Jamestown Mattress, Lind Funeral Home, Pepsi, Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, the Weinberg Financial Group, and Delta Kappa Gamma, the International Honor Society of Women Educators.

High School Bowl airs on Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on radio station WJTN and at 8 a.m. on Sundays on radio station WWSE. Matches can also be heard online at
