Westfield Middle School names Students of the Month

Three students were selected as Westfield Middle School Students of the Month for the month of November.

The 6th grade recipient is Joy Kiswani. In school, Joy enjoys reading and writing in her Language Arts class and singing in Chorus. In her spare time, she enjoys gymnastics and spending time with animals. In the future, Joy looks forward to trying many things including being a veterinarian, an author, a gymnast and a singer.

Clayton Kircher received this honor for the 7th grade. In school, he enjoys his Language Arts class and the books they read, and also Science and the different experiments they conduct. As a hobby, he enjoys playing basketball. In the future, he would like to get into a good college and perhaps play basketball professionally.

At the 8th grade level, Summer Mitchell received this honor. In school, she enjoys her Social Studies and Math classes. Outside of the classroom, Summer enjoys playing softball and being a part of the team. In the future she hopes to go to college and get a degree in teaching or a culinary field.

On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:

1. Follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers

2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects

3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes

4. Serves as a positive role model for peers

5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
