Conrad Vicary

Conrad D. Vicary, 84, of Ripley, N.Y. passed away on Christmas Day 2015 at his home.

He was born on Dec. 17, 1931 in Erie, Pa., the son of Frank and Aldine Heemer Vicary.

He was an Army veteran, serving in combat during the Korean conflict and later in the reserves.

He was employed by Marx Toys, Firch's Bakery and then for Hammermill Paper Co. for 43 years. After retirement, he worked for Meals on Wheels until a recent illness.

He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Westfield. He was a golden gloves boxer in Erie in 1951, 52 and 56; was an avid golfer and loved to play chess.

He is survived by his wife Vida and sons Allen (Barbara) Case of Orlando, Fla. and Donald (Tracy) and Lance Vicary of Westfield, N.Y. Also grandchildren Erica (Eric) Nuse, Lindsey, Brock and Elena Vicary.

He was preceded in death by his brothers James and Marino Vicary and sisters Mary Loomis, Josephine Valerio, Irene Long and Aldine Brown.

A memorial service is scheduled for Jan. 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Westfield, N.Y.
