Rose Latimer

Rose Ann Latimer, 71, of Hemlock Drive, Mayville, died Saturday (January 2, 2016) in St. Vincent's Hospital in Erie, Pa.

She was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of the late Alexander and Loretta (Krumm) McBroom.

Rose was employed by the New York State Department of Transportation in Mayville, retiring in November 2006.

She was a member of the Eastern Stars for over 30 years, she also belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in North East, PA.

Rose enjoyed going to the casino's with her best friend Barb, she loved her family and really enjoyed her grandchildren. In earlier years, she enjoyed hunting and fishing. After retiring, Rose enjoyed travelling south with Otto in their camper during the winter months.

She is survived by her companion of 31 years, Francis "Otto" Graham of Mayville; two sons, Donald (Wanda) Latimer of Mayville, and David Latimer of Mayville; four grandchildren, Jessica, James, Cody, and Justin Latimer, and one great-grandchild, Preston; one sister, Ruth (Jack) Bertaux, of Landers, Calif.; and one brother, Darrel (Sharon) McBroom of Independence, Mo.

The funeral service was at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville. Pastor Dan Prewitt of the First Baptist Church of Mayville officiated. Burial was in the Mayville Cemetery. The family received friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
