Carl Calabrese

Former resident of Westfield, Carl Calabrese died peacefully after a long illness, on Thursday, Dec 17, in Fort Myers, Fla.

Carl was born in Buffalo, on Oct. 13, 1926. He attended Brockton Central School and worked on the family farm growing grapes for Welch's until 1946. He worked at the Calabrese Garage and for the county court house in Mayville. He made Westfield his home with his parents and siblings until 1977 and then to Dunkirk and Fredonia. In 1985 when he moved to Florida with his brother and sister.

A lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus that he joined in 1942, Carl cared deeply for his church and his family.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Grace Calabrese; four brothers: Leonard, Sam, Angelo and Peter; one sister, Isabelle; and a cousin Anna Martin.

Survivors include his sister, Dorothy; nieces: Grace and Susan and nephew. Tom. all of Florida; great- nieces: Kathryn and her mother, Elizabeth; nephews: Joe, David and Michelle (Bach) Calabrese their children: Saleena and John of Waverly, Pa.; beloved extended family includes cousin: Mary (Martin) and Tony Pampalone, Richard and Zina (Pampalone) Seguino, their children: Anthony, Venessa and Christopher of Long Island, N.Y.; and sister- in-law, Marion Calabrese.

He will be missed by many friends and family.
