George B. Raeder

George B. Raeder of Ripley, N.Y., died on Jan. 6, 2016 at UPMC Hamot in Erie, Pa., after a long illness.

George was born in Erie, Pa. on Dec. 16, 1949 to the late Frank and Geraldine (Knee) Raeder. He was 66 years old.

George was a graduate of Ripley Central School. He proudly served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam era. For 25 years, he worked for the Temco Corporation of North East, Pa. as a Machinist Operator.

George was a man who greatly loved his family. He especially had a special affection for his grandchildren. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle in his spare time.

George is survived by his wife, JoAnne (Jackson) Raeder, one daughter, Kim R. Erbacher of Gilbertsville, Ky., and his son, Kurt Raeder of Ripley, N.Y. He is further survived by two brothers, Frank of Ripley, N.Y. and Michael of Nevada, and three sisters, Linda Travis and Kathy Bovee of Ripley, N.Y. and Nella Perrine of Westfield, N.Y. Three granddaughters and several nieces and nephews also survive him.

George was predeceased by his son, Mark Raeder of Ripley, N.Y.

George's Funeral Service was held on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at 5 p.m. at the Mathews Funeral Home, 104 West Main Street, Ripley, N.Y.

The family would appreciate donations to the Ripley Hose Company in George's memory.

All arrangements have been entrusted to Michael Robert Fantauzzi, Director.
