RIPLEY - Two individuals were transported to Westfield Memorial Hospital for injuries Friday after an accident on Route 76.

Darlene Meeder, 57, of Ripley and Tyler Boozel, 17, of Ellington were transported to the hospital after a collision involving Meeder's vehicle and the vehicle of George Steadman, 51, of Ellington.

At 6:45 p.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident with injuries.

Upon arrival, the deputies discovered Steadman had been traveling north on Route 76 and lost control of his vehicle in blizzard-like conditions. Steadman's vehicle slid down the route and into the opposite lane, when he struck Meeder's vehicle as she traveled south.

Boozel was a passenger in Steadman's vehicle at the time of the accident.

No charges were filed as a result of the accident.
