Allan Johnson

Allan W. Johnson, age 77, of Westfield, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at Heritage Village Rehab & SNF of Gerry, NY, with his family by his side.

Allan was born on Feb. 6, 1939 in Pittsfield, Illinois, a son of the late Raymond and Lena (Reeder) Johnson.

Raised in Pittsfield, Illinois, Al moved to the area to help open the new Spector Trucking Co. Terminal in Ripley, where he was a diesel mechanic. He had been employed at Falconer Glass as a truck driver and retired from AIM Trucking of Falconer in 2009. He enjoyed trap shooting and had been in both the north and south county leagues. Was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #118 where he was a former officer and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion, all in Westfield.

He enjoyed deer hunting and spending time at the cabin in Cattaraugus County. Allan was an avid baseball fan and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.

He is survived by two sons, Michael E. (Melinda) Johnson of Westfield and James L. (Debbie) Johnson of San Jose, Calif. Al was the proud grandfather of Michael Johnson of Westfield, Allan "AJ" Johnson of San Jose, Calif., Melissa (Tim) Lawson of Panama, and Nicole Johnson of Jamestown. He is further survived by his three wonderful great granddaughters, Kayleigh Stanfield, Adisyn Brown and Zoe Lawson.

He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Kendall Brown, his sister, Marilyn Frazier and his brother, Earl Ray Johnson.

Friends may call on Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield. All other services will be private.
