Carl Retzer

Carl Retzer, 80, of Mayville, N.Y., passed away on Feb. 7, 2016, at the Chautauqua Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on Oct. 10, 1935 in Patterson, N.J. to the late Louis and Mary (Rae) Retzer.

Carl served in the United States Army as a paratrooper and was honorably discharged. He was employed at Armor and Company of Buffalo, North American Van Lines, and Absolut Care of Westfield. He also served as an Eucharistic minister at the St. Louis Church in Buffalo.

For several years he was a foster parent to many children, and he had a great faith, love, and belief in the Lord.

Carl is survived by his wife, Celine (Kosciuszko) of Mayville; his daughter Theresa (Scott) Igguldon, his two sons Matthew and Michael (Debra) Retzer, and grandson Timothy Retzer, all of Buffalo; his brother Louis (Barbara) Retzer of LaGrangeville, and the late Thersea Retzer; brother in law to Johanna Kelly of Mayville and the late Marcel Kosciuszko.

As per his request, his body has been donated to the University of Buffalo Medical School.
