Friday, March 4

Ripley Library will host the Big Read at 1 p.m. "Their Eyes Were Watching God" by Zora Neale Hurston will be the book discussed. The group will meet every Friday at 1 during the month of March to talk about not only the story, but also the time period that the story was written including the demands and restrictions of that era. Copies of this book are now available at the library.

Saturday, March 5

Congressman Tom Reed will hold a town hall meeting from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Stanley Hose Company, 122 Park St., Sherman.

Saturday, March 12

Ripley United Methodist Church is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits & sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee will be offered. The price is $7. The breakfast will benefit Friends of the Ripley Library.

Sunday, March 13

The Preceptor Beta Epsilon will hold their annual St. Patrick's Day Towel Bingo at the Brocton American Legion from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be prizes, a Chinese auction, a 50-50 raffle and refreshments. Admission is $3. Come, have fun, eat, drink and win some towels.

Monday, March 14

A gun safety class starts at 7 p.m. at the Westfield Fish & Game Club on Ogden Road. The class runs until 10 p.m. and resumes March 19 and goes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students must attend both days and be at least 12 years old. More information is available by contacting 326-3218.

Thursday, March 24

The First Presbyterian Church, Westfield will host a Seder Supper on Maundy Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Church Parlor. There will be Hebrew readings as well as candle lighting. Members and friends of the community are invited to attend. A maximum amount of 30 people will be able to attend so please make reservations by calling the church office at 326-2643.

Saturday, April 23

Stanley Hose Ladies Auxiliary is holding a Wine, Dine & Demos event. This event is by reservation only - so make your reservations now and take advantage of the early bird rate! Guests have a choice of a full package which includes boarding a motor coach for a wine tasting tour of five local wineries, dinner and demonstrations by local independent consultants, or a Dine & Demo package, which includes dinner and demonstrations by local independent consultants.
