Winifred A. Swanson Raynor, 86 of Westfield passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at St. Vincent HCC in Erie, PA.

Winnie was born January 7, 1930 in Jamestown, the daughter or Raymond and Belle (Harris) Swanson. She graduated from Sherman Central School in 1948 and attended Jamestown Business School before traveling to California where she lived for a year before returning to Chautauqua County.

She began her working career at the Murray Hill in Westfield. She had been employed by Wooster Trucking Company in North East , PA for many years and finally Renold Inc. in Westfield until she retired in 1992.

She married her husband, Warren(Mickey) Raynor on Sept. 15, 1954 and together they raised three children.

She loved playing golf and when she could no longer play, she would watch the golf channel all day. She also loved the Buffalo Bills and The New York Yankees. She loved to read and on sunny summer days you could find her reading on her porch with her beloved dog at her feet. Her most favorite passtime was playing cribbage and other card games with her grandchildren.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years on Dec. 23,1990, her daughter Mischele Helman Milliman on Jan.16,1996, her sister Christine Swanson Krouse of Ohio and her step-son Michael G. Raynor of Mayville.

She is survived by her daughter Renae (Martin) Hemmer, her son Merle R. (Mitch) (Kim) Raynor and her step-son Charles W. Raynor all of Westfield, ten grandchildren: Alesha Helman, Tonia Frudd, Leigh Milliman Fairweather, Katelin Milliman, Lewis Milliman, Shane Hemmer,Cpl Emily Raynor, Bailey Raynor, David Bretz and Jamie Bretz as well as seven great-grandchildren: Kaleigh, Isabella, Nicco, Lucca, Enzo, Cooper and Katrina.

Her family was the light of her life along with her beloved dog "Fletcher".

A memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Spitzer Funeral Home 135 Miller St. Sherman, New York. Friends were received for two hours prior to the service, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the Patterson Library as well as the Chautauqua County Humane Society or The Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue.
