Patricia Crandall

Patricia A. Crandall, 80, of Hannum Road, Mayville, died Monday (February 29, 2016) at Absolut at Westfield. Pat had been a lifelong resident of Mayville.

She was born May 8, 1935 in Hornell, the daughter of the late Herman W. and Grace E. France Paulus.

Pat was employed in food service over the years, having worked at Mayville Diner, Mayville Central School cafeteria, the refreshment stand at Mayville Lakeside Park, The Sweet Shop, and The Coffee Shop

Pat was a life member of the Mayville United Methodist Church, and the Ruth Circle at church, the Order of Eastern Stars, the Mozart Club, and Rosicrucian.

Pat enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, and Brazilian embroidery. She also enjoyed attending lectures and symphonic concerts at Chautauqua Institution.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce R. Crandall, whom she married Oct. 23, 1953 in Aberdeen, Maryland; one daughter, Elizabeth (Robert) Perry of Dewittville; two sons, Ronald (Donna) Crandall of Dewittville and Timothy (Theresa) Crandall of Clymer; eight grandchildren, Lyndsey Perry, Jim Perry, Ryan Crandall, Kory Crandall, Kyle Crandall, Bailey Hawley, Jamie Crandall, and Rebekah Lee; four great grandchildren; four sisters, Linda Holland, Nancy Brow, Diane Rake, and Lucy Ruland; one brother, Steven Ruland.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathleen "Kitty" McIntyre, Suzanne Ruland, and Margaret Ruland; three brothers, Herman (Jim) Paulus Jr., David "Buzz" Paulus, and Robert Paulus.

A memorial service will be held at a later date that will be announced by the Freay Funeral Home in Mayville.

Memorials may be made to Mayville Library or to a charity of choice.
