Westfield Middle School announces Students of the Month for January

Three students were selected as a Westfield Middle School Student of the Month for the month of January.

The 6th grade recipient is Madeline Lancaster. In school Madeline enjoys her Math and Social Studies classes, as well as band. In her spare time she enjoys raising goats and playing basketball. In the future Madeline hopes to go to an Ivy League school and pursue a degree in veterinary medicine.

Alexa Quagliana received this honor for the 7th grade. In school she enjoys her math and science classes, as she would like to become a scientist or doctor. As a hobby she enjoys attending church, activities with Girl Scouts, and playing outside with others. In the future she plans to have a family and become a successful scientist or doctor.

At the 8th grade level Heather Fleck received this honor. In school she enjoys her Physical Education class and learning how to play new games. Outside of the classroom Heather enjoys playing basketball. In the future she hopes to continue to do well in school and become a good basketball player.

The Westfield School and community offer their congratulations to these outstanding students.

On a monthly basis, Westfield Middle School honors one student at each grade level as the Student of the Month. Teachers and staff had the opportunity to nominate one student who they believed met the following criteria:

1. Follows Westfield's Rules of Respect for staff and peers

2. Shows outstanding effort and improvement or shows achievement and consistent high scores on tests, quizzes and projects

3. Prepared daily to participate in all classes

4. Serves as a positive role model for peers

5. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good citizenship
