Thomas "Tom" Carlson, a lifelong resident of Mayville, was welcomed as a new member of the Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation at its March meeting.

Ironically, Carlson is very familiar with the hospital, having been a member of the Mayville Fire Department for the last 26 years. In this capacity, he held an Advanced EMT/Paramedic certification for more than 20 years. Additionally, he says, "I also worked for ALSTAR Ambulance Service as a medic from 1994 to 2004."

Having been employed by Chautauqua County since 1980, Carlson currently holds the position of director for the North Chautauqua Lake Sewer District and the Portland-Pomfret Sewer District. He also holds the Deputy Supervisor position for the town of Chautauqua.
