Glenn V. Gardinier

Glenn V. Gardinier, born in Brocton, New York on Feb. 2, 1935, son of Reginald Gardinier and Laura Tanner Gardinier, died in Sarasota, Florida on Feb. 5, 2016, of natural causes. He was 81 years old.

Reginald Gardinier, Glenn's father, founded the Gardinier Funeral Home in Dunkirk.

Glenn volunteered to serve in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1962. He was a graduate of Allegheny College, Pa., Class of 1958, and then attended Syracuse University. Glenn's lifetime achievements include a Pulitzer Prize nomination, Associated Press Managing Editors Award, and Silver Anvil award of Public Relations Society of America. News achievements include breaking the world's first auto recall story, White House coverage, and extensive business and financial writing and editing.

Prior to retirement, Glenn was employed by News America Marketing.

He is survived by three children, a granddaughter and his beloved and devoted best friend, Carol Maass.
