Ralph McKay

Ralph E. McKay, 65, of Eldridge Road, Town of Leon, passed away at 9:51 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 in the emergency room at WCA Hospital.

He was born Dec. 5, 1950 in Gowanda the son of the late S. Morris and Charlotte R. VanVleck McKay.

Ralph attended Pine Valley Central School and retired from the Family Dairy Farm on Eldridge Road in the Town of Leon. He had also worked for Spartan Construction in his younger days.

He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and many Amish friends.

He is survived by a daughter; Terra M. McKay-Legg and husband Charles of Lakewood, two sons; Raymond Morris McKay Sr. and wife Debra of Marfa Texas, Rick A. McKay and wife Jessica of Westfield, the mother of Ralph's children; Claudia Torsell of Kennedy, his long time companion; Melody Adams of Randolph, six grandchildren; Jordan McKay, Raymond Morris McKay Jr., Libbie Ververka, Tasha Watson, Theron Legg and Hunter McKay, two great grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sisters; Diane Young and husband Dick of Ellington and Betty Kelwaski and husband Michael of Florida.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 today and 11-1 Friday in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday (April 1, 2016) in the funeral home. John Congdon will officiate. Burial will be in the Treat Memorial Cemetery, Leon.
