Jessie Warnshuis

Jessie C. Warnshuis, 97, born Feb. 5, 1919, went home to be with God and her husband and brother Ernie, passed away Wednesday March 23, 2016, at Absolut of Westfield.

She was born in Sherman, N.Y., the daughter of the late Claude and Anna Miner Valentine.

Jessie had a great love for her many grandchildren and her husband of 63 years. Together they spent their lives farming and traveling to Wyoming, for hunting and snowmobiling. She was a member of T.O.P.S. She will be best remembered by her coffee and homemade bread and always being a gracious hostess to all who entered her home. She touched many lives wherever she went.

Jessie is survived by her daughter, Diane Paul, and her cousins Jean and Marie Hanrahan.

Five grandchildren, Kenneth, Cory and Craig Warnshuis, and Jill Pacy and Christy Paul; six great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Warnshuis, a son Paul Warnshuis; and two brothers Ernest and James Valentine.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at the Spitzer Funeral Home 135 Miller St., Sherman, New York. And also for one hour prior to the service on Saturday April 2.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday April 2, 2016, at the funeral home, with pastors Mark Hanson and Tom Calzone officiating. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Stanley Hose Co. PO Box 574, Sherman, NY 14781.
