(March 30)- Julia Hill pitched the Silver Creek Black Knights (1-0) past the Westfield Lady Wolverines (0-1), 6-0, Wednesday afternoon, during non-league softball action at Westfield High School.

The Black Knights scored two runs in the top of the first, one in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth for the shut out win, as Hill surrendered just three hits while striking out four and walking three over four innings of work.

Jenny Pearl had two hits and an RBI in the win while Kennedy Eggleston chipped in a double and two RBI.

For Westfield, Laura Tofil suffered the loss in the circle after allowing six runs - three earned - on nine hits while striking out eight and not issuing a walk.

"Laura really pitched a good game," Westfield first-year head coach Dave LeBarron said. "She had eight strikeouts, so she pitched a pretty good game. Unfortunately we had too many errors on defense."

At the plate for the Lady Wolverines, Lindsey Songer and Taylor Kassman had singles in the loss.
