Panama defeats Lady Bulldogs

BROCTON (March 30)- After a scoreless first inning, Panama (1-0, 0-1) scored 10 runs over the next two frames en route to a 14-5 CCAA West 2 win over Brocton (0-1, 0-1), during high school softball action.

Francine Torres helped herself in the circle with a trio of hits and two RBI while allowing five runs on six hits to earn the win. She added nine strikeouts and 13 walks to her line in the opening-day effort.

For the Lady Bulldogs, Jen Potter suffered the loss after she allowed all 14 runs while striking out two and walking two in a complete-game effort. Potter added two hits and an RBI at the dish while Jypsi Eidens had a pair of hits and an RBI of her own. Also for Brocton, Elise Miller and Logan Kelley had an RBI each.
