North Harmony

Senior Citizens

When the North Harmony Senior Citizens met on March 21 for their monthly dinner, one would have thought that dinner would have consisted of corn beef and cabbage in celebration of Saint Patrick. Well, the priority for dinner was spaghetti, meatballs, salad and Italian bread. The GREEN was evidenced with the delicious desserts provided by the member bakers or shoppers.

Pat and Gordon Saulsgiver, Sue Harper, Kathy Silzle, Bonnie Johnson, Anita and Earl Ferry, Case Foster and Rhonda Hatfield were the host committee for the evening.

The birthday cake, provided by Bonnie Johnson, honored the March celebrants: Loretta Saulsgiver, Elli McNeill, Norm Czubaj, Juanita Holthouse, Charlie Krause, Ellen Coffaro, Charles Ellis, Hal Wiggers, Art Palmer and Norm Mattison.

Entertainment for the evening was provided by Nettie Moore who is a talented pianist. She provided a whole repertoire of old time songs. Her amazing skill is that she reads no music but plays by ear.

One watched in wonderment to see the members and guests tap their toes on the floor, make body movements and lip sync to the melodies. This music of old is in contrast to the songs of today because one can recognize the words to the melody.

After dinner, the general business meeting was conducted by President Ferry. All respective officers gave their financial and business reports, read the minutes of the previous meeting, reported on upcoming travels and mentioned future activities like Congressman Reed's appearance at the club center to discuss a proposed Bill, the "Credit for Caring Act.

The next meeting will be held at the center on April 18 at 6 p.m.

Any interested seniors who are not members are urged to attend.
