George Boozel

George H. Boozel, 88, of Clymer, New York, passed away suddenly on Sunday April 17, 2016.

He was born Dec. 31, 1927, in Clymer, the son of the late Homer and Julia McGerl Boozell.

George was a graduate of Clymer Central School in 1947. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, having actually served in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He joined the Findley Lake Methodist Church, in 1956. He was one of the founders of Peek N' Peak in 1964, then worked there for 40 years, and during that time he was also a dairy farmer. He was also president of the West Mina Cemetery for 20 years. He also served on the first zoning board in the Town of Mina. George was active in the Triangle Square Dancing Club, bowling and golf leagues. He was the number one fan of Boozel racing.

George is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia M. McCray, of Clymer, whom he marry married in the McCray Methodist Church, in Concord Township, Corry, Pa. and his children, Karen Boozel Boone, Findley Lake, Mark (Louann TeWinkle) Boozel, of Clymer, Debra (Jeff) TeCulver, of Clymer. Six grandchildren, Rachael Rosenberg, Dorr, Mich., Andrew Boozel, of Clymer, Scott TeCulver, Clymer, Kelli Eimers, Corry, Pa., Erika Boone, Reno, Nev. Taylor TeCulver, Clymer; and also by eight great grandchildren. and one brother, Veo Boozel, Meadville, Pa.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Alvin, Malcom, Willis and Thomas Boozel.

Family and friends were received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at the Findley Lake United Methodist Church, 2862 North Rd. Findley Lake.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the Findley Lake United Methodist, with Pastor David Cooke, and Rev. Paul Sears, officiating. Burial will be in West Mina Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clymer Fire Dept., PO Box 31, Clymer, NY 14724 or ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15209 in honor of Debra Boozel TeCulver.

Arrangements are being handled by the Spitzer Funeral Home, Clymer.
