Golf: Thunderbirds lose two matches

(April 21) - The Forestville golf team won both its matches and had the medalist at Chautauqua Golf Club.

The Hornets beat Chautauqua Lake, 36-19, and Silver Creek, 33-22. The Black Knights topped the Thunderbirds, 33-1/2 to 21-1/2, in their competition.

"All three teams have showed quite a bit of improvement in the last two weeks in dropping their scores," Chautauqua Lake coach Steve Johnston said.

Troy Torsell brought home medalist honors for Forestville with a 1-over-par 36. The other top Hornets' golfers were Lewis Markham with a 41 and Jackson Egan, Phil Narraway and Tyler Spears, who all shot a 45.

Silver Creek's best score came from Konnor Daniels, who put up a 39 while Kenny Pisa had a 43 for the Black Knights. Other top scorers for the team were Zach Rybak (46), Andrew Hill (51) and Chris Pagano (53).

Kole Maytum had the best score for Chautauqua Lake with a 40. Joey Parker came up with a 46, Tom Gurga had a 56, Justin Wiemer shot a 58 and Parker Gleason managed a 64.

S/C/P wins one, loses two

FINDLEY LAKE (April 20) - Cassadaga Valley's Titus Miller shot a 41 to earn medalist honors as four teams met up on the front nine of the Lower Course at Peek'n Peak Resort.

In CCAA West 2 action, Sherman/Clymer/Panama beat Cassadaga Valley, 34-21; Forestville/Pine Valley beat Sherman/Clymer/Panama, 39-16; and Silver Creek defeated Sherman/Clymer/Panama (2-2, 2-2), 28-27.

Cole Munson's 45 led Sherman/Clymer/Panama, Lewis Markham's 42 led Forestville/Pine Valley and Connor Daniels' 42 led Silver Creek over the par-36 layout.
