Thursday Pinehurst Retiree League

Seventeen golfers braved the cool foggy start to compete for bragging rights.

In first place was the threesome of Keith Rothwell, Gene Noble and Jim Higgenbothom at three under par. Second place at two under par was another threesome of Trenny Jordon, Ray Lewis and Dave Holser. At one under par and in third place was the team of Bill Cole, Rick Lawson, Todd Swanson and Bob Richmond. After a tie breaker on hole number two, the team of Bill Ottaway, Jim Sudal, Bill Shields (welcome to Bill) and Sam Arcadipane played par golf. Also at even par was the team of Doug Rothwell, George Tanner and Butch Joint (welcome back Butch).

Individual honors for closest to the pin went to Gene Noble on number 4 and Bill Cole on number 7.

Pinehurst ParTee Girls

The Pinehurst ParTee Girls had their first round of the season on May 3. Val Gelsimino shot the low gross of 50, followed by Brooke Calkins with a 51. The low net of 37 was shot by Carolyn Rawlinson, Gelsimino, and Calkins. The shortest drive on No. 1 went to Josie Lantz, and Lori Foster was closest to the pin on the third shot on No. 6.

Traveling Retiree Golf

The Traveling Retiree Golfers will open their 2016 season by traveling to Green Meadows Golf Course on Tuesday, May 24. Tee time is 9:30 a.m. For more information, call Roger Kolpien at 326-6253.

McDonald's Asquith Senior Golf Tour

The tour golfed at Cable Hollow GC on May 9.

White B: Dave Gerringer +8, Scott Vogan +2, Paul Edson +1. Top gross: Dave Gerringer, 86.

Gold A: Dan Kelly +8, Bill Davenport +4, Jim Ferrick +3. Top gross: Bob Wood, 82.

Gold B: Larry Spencer +12, Jim Wirges +6 ,Jim Watt +5. Top gross: Larry Spencer, 79.

Gold C: Don Armstrong +2, Russ Vacanti +1, Tom McGann -1. Top gross: Tom McGann, 96.

Gold D: Dave Nagy +6, Ed Rumiano +5, Ed Potter +4. Top gross: Dave Nagy and Ed Rumiano, 101.

Dave Allen was closest to the pin on No.2. He won a $10 gift certificate for Gametime Lounge at the Jamesown Bowling Company. Dave Vanstrom was closest to the pin on No. 5. He won $20 off at Ellicottville Brewing Co. in Fredonia. Shelly Grant was closest to the hole on No. 17. She won a $10 Gametime Lounge gift certificate.
