Westfield FD details its April service calls

The Fire Department of Westfield responded to 26 calls for service during the month of April 2016.

Of those calls, 21 were for emergency medical services (EMS), with 12 of those calls being within the Village of Westfield and six of them within the town of Westfield. There were three responses to Absolut Care.

There were five fire calls during the month of April. One of the fire calls occurred in the village at TOPS Market for a grease fire. There were two fire calls in the Town of Westfield. One call was a mobile home fire at 7506 East Main Street, and the second call was a brush fire at Walker and Vilardo Roads. The Fire Department of Westfield also responded to a fire call on the New York State Thruway for a tractor-trailer brake fire at mile marker 482.4 eastbound. There was also a mutual aid request for a possible electrical fire at 59 Ross Street in Ripley.

The 26 responses in April was a significant decrease from last month's total of 49 responses. The Fire Department of Westfield has responded to a total of 171 incidents since January 1, 2016.
