BBQ Pit Ribbon-cutting

"When Pigs Fly BBQ Pit" at 8254 First Street, Westfield-Barcelona, will have a ribbon cutting ceremony, hosted by the Westfield Barcelona Community Chamber of Commerce, at approximately 6 p.m., time dependent on traffic flow. For more information see

Celebrity chef Robert Hesse from Food Network and FOX TV shows including "Hell's Kitchen," "Beat Bobby Flay" and "Chopped," also with influences from ?working under Guy Fieri and Flay, will be ready to serve from 4 to 11 p.m.

Ripley Board of Education

A special meeting of the Board of Education of the Ripley Central School District will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the superintendent's office of the Ripley Central School for the purpose of employment issues and any and all items that come before the Board.

Dewittville-Hartfield United Methodist Church, Route 430 and Meadows Road in Dewittville, will hold its annual rummage sale and bake sale on Friday, May 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, May 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. Hunt for household treasures and purchase delicious homemade pies, cookies and more for your Memorial weekend celebration. Bake sale will be held both days.

St. Peter's Activities

In conjunction with Westfield's reenactment/encampment weekend in Moore Park, St. Peter's Episcopal Church will host a commemorational letter reading on Saturday, June 11 at 2 p.m., and a service Sunday, June 12 at 10 a.m. Service to be officiated by the Rt. Rev. R. William Franklin of the Diocese of Western New York Participants from the re-enactment join in as we envision a bygone era. This is an opportunity to experience the rich history that was once part of this community. Everyone is welcome. Come as you are or have fun in a period outfit. Ripley UMC Breakfast

Ripley United Methodist Church is hosting an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, made-to-order eggs and omelets, home fries, biscuits and sausage gravy, orange juice and coffee will be offered. The cost is $7. This month's breakfast will benefit Kingdom Konxions Summer Youth Program.
