Billie Jo Reid and several volunteers have created a walk to help support people with breast cancer. The walk will be July 9 at 1 Park Ave. in Ripley. All donations will be split between The Circle of Love of Dunkirk, Partners for Prevention of Jamestown and the Regional Cancer Center of Erie, Pa. Sign-in for the walk begins at 7 a.m. The walk begins at 8 a.m. Tickets will be sold for a Chinese auction following the walk. The drawing for the Chinese auction will be held at 8 p.m.

Guardians of the Ribbon: Northern New York State Chapter from Plattsburgh, N.Y. will be there with their pink fire truck and a pink cop car.

After the walk, a Veterans of Valor Memorial Dedication will be held on the Ripley Central School front lawn around 10 a.m., followed by the Bicentennial Parade at 11 a.m.

The Circle of Love is founded by Josie Christopher and she helps with wigs, pillows and shows support to all the patients. Partners for Prevention helps patients with early screening and treatment. Regional Cancer Center has programs for patients and helps keep them relaxed with snacks and drinks while they are receiving treatment.

The public is invited to show all the patients support during this time. Any questions can be sent to the Facebook page: Ripleys Walk against Breast Cancer or to the email at or by phone at 814-323-0864.
