Donald R. Pierce, age 76, of Brocton, New York passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pa. with his loving family by his side.

Donald was born October 16, 1939 in Stockton, NY to the late Horace and Lucille Bull Pierce. Donald was a former employee of the former Market Basket store in Westfield, New York where he was well liked by fellow employees and customers. He always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He had a great love for his family, especially his grandchildren, Brandon and Dustin Orlando, Ariana and Michalia Kroah, and Jessie Reardon and also his many nieces and nephews.

Donald is survived by his two daughters Denise (James) Kroah of Brocton, New York and Crystal Pierce (Joseph Kleet) of Fredonia, New York and one son Michael Pierce (Linda Clutter) of Brocton, New York. He is also survived by one brother Rolland Pierce of Brocton, New York.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Violet (Fitch) Pierce who passed away in January of 2014 and one brother Bruce Pierce who died in 1989 and one sister Cynthia Henderson who died in 2001.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday August 16, 2016 at 12 p.m. from The New Hope Rising Church, 9 Highland Ave., Brocton, New York. The Rev. Brett Davis officiated.

Interment followed at the Stockton Greenwood Cemetery in Stockton, New York. Friends were invited to call at the New Hope Rising Church one hour prior to the start of the funeral service from 11 am until 12 noon.
