Westfield Goldenhawks to hold Annual Chicken BBQ fundraiser

The Westfield Goldenhawks will be holding their Annual Chicken BBQ Fundraiser on Sept. 17 at the Westfield School Football Field. Pre-made tickets can be bought from any board member. There will be a limited amount of dinners available outside of the pre-sale tickets.

Raising Awareness for the Starflight Program

Starflight is your local not-for-profit medevac service serving Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Warren, Allegany and McKean Counties since 1986. Help celebrate Starflight's 30th Anniversary! FREE give-aways, Explore the MD-900 Helicopter, Visit Starflight team. Helicopter appearance weather permitting. Locations and times for the events are as follows: Cross Roads Farm & Craft Market in Westfield from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; 2861 US-20 Sheridan from 3 to 5 p.m.; and 70 Main Street Randolph from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Sherman Central School to Host "Wall of Fame" Dinner

The 7th annual Sherman Central School Wall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday, November 18, 2016 at the Chautauqua Golf Club, 6:00 PM. Inductees this year include: Jack Dean, Gretchen Selfridge, and the 1957-58 Mens' Basketball Team (Jay Crandall, Ron Doncavage, Paul Geer, Chuck Griswold, Gilbert Munger, Eddie Newell, Ardie Phillips, Bill Piper, Jim Pratt, Junior Reed, Roy Shore, Dave Smith, P.J. Wiggers. The dinner cost is $30 and reservations can be made by calling Tracie Smith at (716)761-4812. The deadline for registration is Friday, November 4. Friends, family and all community members are welcome to attend the event in honor of these deserving inductees.

The "Wall of Fame" was established in the 2008-09 school year to recognize the positive impact certain individuals have had upon the district, its children, or society in general.
