Brandy Cochrane of Cakes by Brandy sets up for last year’s Taste of Chautauqua Along the Lake at the D’Vine Experience. Her cupcakes won her the best sweet taste of the day. She will return to the event this year with even more tasty goodies.

"For the third year in a row we are proud to partner with Enactus to host this event that brings the tastes, sights and sounds of Chautauqua County to the forefront along with the area's nonprofits helping the community. United Way of Northern Chautauqua County partners with a dozen of these organizations to empower our community through education, income and health. Come to the Grape Discovery Center Saturday to eat, drink, have fun and help our community," UNNCC Executive Director Deb Tederous said.

The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the Grape Discovery Center, 8305 West Main Road (Route 20), Westfield rain or shine. There will be the blessing of the grapes at 1 p.m.

Guests can purchase tickets for $1 each and try a food item for one to three tickets. After they have determined their favorite sweet and savory dishes, they can vote and the winning establishment will receive a plaque.

"Along with bringing back all of last year's incredible establishments, The Taste of Chautauqua Along the Lake portion of the event has been expanded to include more mouthwatering tastes of our areas superb food and drink," Tederous said.

Last year's sweet winner, Cakes by Brandy, will return this year and offer those award-winning cupcakes, cake pops and cookies. Calarco's Italian Restaurant and Jack's Barcelona Drive In will both have meatballs, Meeder's Restaurant will have a grape dessert, Catch 18 will have mini crab cakes and the catch of the day and The Nickel Plate Depot will bring a surprise dish.

Wine tasting will be available from Johnson Estate Winery and Liberty Vineyards and Winery. Guests also have the option of tasting that local wine in a custom D'Vine Experience stemless wine glass for $5 until sold out.

"Enactus proudly brings art, music, energy and passion to our local community for the day of highlighting the variety of northern Chautauqua County and sharing the good work of United Way agencies. We look forward to all the delicious possibilities that might occur this September at the Grape Discovery Center," Dr. Susan McNamara, Enactus club advisor, said.

In addition, guests can enjoy children's activities, a hay ride, raffles including a 40-inch TV donated by Walmart, and interaction with the organizations United Way supports. Local political officials are also expected to attend.
