Gowanda/PV rolls over CLCS, 34-3, in Class C South

GOWANDA - Kameron Alexander ran for 300 yards on 13 attempts and added three touchdowns, as Gowanda/Pine Valley (1-1, 1-0) rolled over Chautauqua Lake (0-2, 0-1), 34-3, Sunday afternoon in Class C South football action at Gowanda High School.

Alexander scored on a 73-yard run in the first quarter and a 9-yard scamper in the second quarter, before adding a 93-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Caleb Maloney added a 6-yard touchdown in the second quarter to help the Panthers to a 21-0 lead while Gilberto Ortiz helped put Gowanda up 28-0 in the third quarter with a 1-yard jaunt to paydirt.

Ortiz finished with 63 yards on 11 carries while Connor Halftown chipped in 52 yards on 10 attempts for the Panthers, who finished the game with 454 yards rushing on 41 tries.

For Chautauqua Lake, Devin Pope had a 17-yard field goal for the Thunderbirds' only points. He also added a team-high 40 yards rushing on eight rushes.

Gowanda is back in action on Friday when it travels to Wilson while Chautauqua Lake is at Salamanca that same night.
