Chautauqua Lake pool programs offered at reduced prices

October 5, 2016
Westfield Republican

Registrations are being accepted at Chautauqua Lake Central School for two public swimming pool programs offered at new lower prices. For each program, registrations must be received in the District Office by 4 p.m. on Fri. Oct. 14. Checks will not be cashed until that date. No payments are accepted at the pool.

The Family Swim Program will be held on Mondays, 6:30-7:30 p.m., starting October 24. One lane may be set up for lap swimmers at the discretion of the lifeguard, as space allows. Swimmers ages 7-12 must be accompanied by an adult, who must stay to supervise but need not swim. Children age 6 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water. Any non-swimmer who is unable to stand with head and shoulders above the water must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult (one swimmer to one adult ratio).

The Adult Lap Swim Program for ages 18 and up will be held on Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m., starting October 25. Up to four lanes will be available for lap swimmers, at the discretion of the lifeguard. Aquatic exercise instruction is not currently offered.

Registration forms for both programs are available in each school office and at www.clake.org. Locate the Swimming Pool link on the left side of the home page. Forms are also in the literature rack at the main (center) entrance to the school building.

If sufficient registrations are not received in the District Office by the announced deadline, the program will be canceled and payments returned. If each program runs, additional registrations may be accepted after the deadline as space allows, but registrations received on a day the program meets will be recorded the following day, so use of the pool will begin the following week.

Both programs will be offered again in the winter, with registrations due by 4 p.m. on Fri. Jan. 20. If there is sufficient demand, a spring series will also be offered, with registrations due by 4 p.m. on Fri. April 7.

For students in Kindergarten or older, swimming lessons will be offered on Saturday mornings, starting in February. For swimmers in grades 3 and up, Swim & Dive Club will be offered after school, starting in February. For both programs, pre-paid registrations must be received in the District Office by 4 p.m. on Fri. Jan. 20.

For recorded pool information, call the Swimming Pool Hotline, 753-5919.
