Thomas A. Hafner

Thomas A. Hafner, 80, of Brocton, New York, passed away late Sunday evening, October 9, 2016 at Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa. after a brief illness. He was born in North Collins, New York on August 17, 1936 and was the son of the late William and Elsie M Fuller Hafner. Thomas was formerly of Jamestown, New York and had lived in Brocton for the past 38 years. He was a former member of the United States National Guard and was a salesman for the Coca-Cola Co. and also a retired real estate agent.

He enjoyed his grandchildren, loved to fish and tell stories, travel and garden. He was also a great lover of music, and greatly enjoyed talking to people. He is survived by his wife, Rose (Panek) Hafner of Brocton, New York, whom he married in 1957; two daughters, Cindy (Hobart Jr.) D'Amico of Brocton, New York and Susan (Michael) Suppo of Fredonia, New York; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Dawson, Penny (Britt) Bridges and Vanessa (Javier Valle) Stevens; three great-grandchildren, Sydne Daniels, Alex Daniels and Nataleya Valle; and one sister, Lulu (Hafner) Kohler of Forestville, New York.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters, Helen Skelly, Dolly Fuller, Louise Mattice and Loraine Kelly; and three brothers, Elmer, Roger and William Hafner.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. from the Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. in Brocton, New York. The Rev. Larry Morrison and Hobart D'Amico will officiate. Interment will followe at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery.
