Mayville Seniors hold October meeting

Mayville Senior Citizens gathered October 20, 2016 for lunch that consisted of assorted delicious casseroles, salads, breads, and desserts. Bonnie Johnson, President, opened the meeting. Dianne Goodrich thanked everyone for contributions of items for the Blue Star Mothers! She then shared 3 funny stories and a poem followed by all reciting the Lord's Prayer. Bonnie Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance. The Secretary and Treasurer reports were both read and accepted.

Jeff Wagner, Senior Council Rep, stated the next meeting will be held at the Mayville VFW on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:00 am. Members were invited to attend. There will be snacks!

Jeff Wagner, Tour Director, stated 24 are currently signed up for Grove City Shopping, Dinner and Holiday Lights Trip on November 28. Please call Jeff at 753-7676 or Janet at 761-6687 to sign up and for further information. More people are needed to make this trip a go! Also, plan on signing up for the day trip to the Riverside Inn Christmas Show, "Christmas Pudding," at Cambridge Springs on December 13.

The kitchen committee was thanked. Wanda Gustafson listed the slate of officers for 2017. Fran Miller, Betty Walter and Linda Taylor won door prizes.

Patrick Swanson, Acting District Attorney for Chautauqua County, spoke about his background and his work as Acting District Attorney. Very interesting!

The Harvest Dinner is our next and only meeting in November. If you haven't signed up, please call Bonnie Johnson at 451-4037. Cost is $5 members and $10 guests to be paid at the dinner to be held on Saturday, November 12 at noon at the Mayville VFW. Bill Tornstrom, Program Chairman, stated our entertainment at this dinner will be Pickin' Pleasure, a music duo composed of Steve Eng and Mark Davis. Don't miss them, these guys are great!
